So, okay, let’s keep it real, right? When you hear of the things that go bump in the night, your mind may turn to monsters under the bed, creepy skeletons, what have you. But what I find really scary in this world is humans and the things they’re capable of. This doesn’t mean murder, rape, all that stuff. It applies to other arenas too, like nature and nurture and how our experiences can sometimes put us in quite the predicament. It is easy to judge another on their actions but is it fair if it’s not your brain, not your chemicals, and without knowing what has shaped all that? Since I appreciate firsthand experiences for reference, take me for instance. Sometimes I pop off and others don’t get it. Without judging me for it, wouldn’t it be nice if somebody was like “hey, why?” so I could have the opportunity to explain that though the behavior is inappropriate, it comes from a primal place that I find hard to control on occasion.
Picture a child who’s super bubbly and curious and then hitting her for no reason of her own and trying to convince her she is anything but those things. If you stifle someone’s voice, their ability to roam and explore, and constantly try to shut them down and shut them off, it changes a human. As an adult, that child is still in there, trying to grow. So, this adult has formed certain triggers. With fine tuning and a ton of work, sure it could be controlled. Without that, without support and a little understanding, negative chemicals and brain chemistry is truly hard to control.
Humans are very prone to evil. Studies have, in fact, shown that humans are born evil and selfish, greedy, competitive, all that. The studies on young children astound me. Sure, society is a huge factor in why and how people have a tendency for evil, but it’s in our nature. And it all started long, long ago. Humans are so here and now. We’re told that from the start- to not dwell, to fake it til you make it, to be positive, but the examples we’re shown speak another language. You can tell a person anything you want but they budge more when you show them. Words are words unless there is action behind them. So, heroes are not born; they are indeed created. But, you guys weren’t born yesterday. Look around you. Everybody is doing the same things at the same times, without being a community. If you stray from the norm, you’re the weirdo. Society has also taught us it’s not cool being the weirdo, well, unless somebody cool tells others you’re cool too even if a bit of a weirdo.
See, it’s all about status, personas, social presence, and being like everyone else. When you break free, you could be banished for it. Humans are social creatures. Being the outcast doesn’t feel good. Here and now, remember? Why not feel good? So, what goes bump in the night? Humanity. For example, what’s a common excuse when someone fucks it up? “I’m only human”. If you ask me, that’s not good. “I’m only human” indicates you are far from suferior and prone to fucking shit up. That indication isn’t far from the truth. You know that movie Idiocracy? Documentary, all the way.
Oh, and speaking of fucking it up. It’s Halloween. Pumpkins are food, FYI. Go ahead and wash off your silly faces that you drew on with a Sharpie and toss those suckers in the forest. Animals can eat those. So, if you’re not making pies or reusing your Halloween pumpkins, you’re a dick for even buying them. Don’t be a loser. Waste not, want not.
There’s so much I could bitch about but we have all 2022 to do that and you best believe we are. I’m sick of the litter, the pollution, using electricity when absolutely unnecessary, the waste of resources, how nobody remembers how animals reclaimed their homes and pollution levels improved drastically during covid locksdowns, food waste instead of composting, being selfish pricks and never thinking of other countries- for example, how we so readily drink our coffee without regard to the poor Amazonian farmers who are poorer than blazes and that poor Amazon forest we destroy just to have it. I’m sick of narcissists on social media who literally have nothing better to do than stare at themselves. There’s so much bullshit, it’s no wonder I hate people in general. Collectively, humans fucking suck so bad I can’t even define it in English terms. It’s only individually, they’re tolerable. Away from the masses of ego blobs with arms and legs. Away from lenses and spectating eyes. When people are true to themselves, they’re amazing. Cure your COW Syndrome. COW= Center of the World. It’s not all about you, if ever it was or will be. It’s not about any of us individually to be frank; it’s all about the collective. And, honestly, most of you are screwing that up- the whole collective stuff.
So, today, I will sign off by saying if you litter, are a purposeful hurtful asshole, hurt animals and things of that like- I hope you fall into a volcano. K, thanks for listening. Your lady Sadie peacing out of this bitch. Happy All Hallows Eve! Side note- whoever came up with ‘trick or treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat’, you rock. Too funny!
